Palestine Etymology
The word Palestine came from the word Philistine (a non-Semitic Greek group from the 12th century BC)
Philistine came from Plishtim (פְּלְשְׁתִּים)
Plishtim came from Palash (פָּלַשׁ) - the Hebrew root of "Invade."
So Plishtim was the Hebrew nickname used by the Israelites to name the Philistines (Philistines did not call themselves that). Therefore, Palestinians are using a Hebrew term for "Invaders" to describe their identity. (Source: here)
