Philosophy of Philippe - New Episode of my video blog series
A little peace of mind in Haiti. Watching this video (in the photo gallery of my cell phone) reminded me how beautiful life can be. In moments of darkness just be still. You'll be guided right back to a beautiful sight.
Episode 8 of Philosophy of Philippe where I discuss casual sex.

The Power of Withholding
"There is an underused power of sheer withholding." I read it again, slowly. It resonated as I continued to read this well written FADER article about Beyoncé. The writer spoke about Beyoncé's strategic approach to navigating her fame. With social media & rapid advances in technology, we live in a world where people over share and over talk. It is no longer a courageous characteristic to be outspoken when everyone is expressing themselves with a simple status update. There seems to be a bravery in remaining private. As of late, I am gaining more insight on the power of withholding things. Whether it is withholding my opinion, pieces of my personal life, my art (until I've perfected it) or my emotions. Being patient enough to use tact. Choosing the appropriate time to be outspoken, share information, or act on something. Subtly giving people parts of me while still leaving a level of intrigue and mystery. Choosing to withhold gives you a bit more control over how things unfold. We don't have complete control over how everything plays out in our lives, this I know to be true. But if we can control how & when we choose to share our energies with the world, we are at a greater advantage of being content with our course of actions.
