Hi, I recently found a Phisalixella arctifasciata for sale and was wondering if maybe you knew about them. Is this snake endangered? I havent been able to find a single thing about them other than some images here and there. Also, do they have a common name? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

They have no common name.

They are not threatened.

They probably will not eat well in captivity, as they are lizard and frog specialists.

I would not recommend them to any but highly experienced snake keepers.

What in the world is this snake?  It looks like a type of blunt headed tree snake, but i’ve never seen a picture of one with banding like that, or the demonic red eyes. 

I also searched the scientific name and nothing came up.

Well, the spelling of the epithet is atrocious. This is actually Phisalixella arctifasciata, a species of true tree snake of lamprophiid subfamily Pseudoxyrhophiinae, endemic to eastern Madagascar. Where the hell did it show up in the pet trade? They are really rare. Also, getting them to eat mammals might be a struggle; as far as we know they are lizard specialists. hyacynthus should know more!
