Any Failtopia headcanons or opinions you consider hot takes?

l fully believe failboat shouldn’t have tried bringing older miitopia characters back in season 2 post game. he made petunyawn and simpler bob and played with them for like. one maybe two streams. and then he stopped. he gave us two “new” characters and barely fleshed them out, especially simpler bob. most viewers at that time probably didn’t even know about simple bob and were thinking “why’s he just a guy.”

bringing back erica and chi was deliberate, he knew they were fan favorites. simple bob and piranhyawn were just. i dunno i just feel like they didn’t need to be brought back

what do you (or anyone else who sees this post) think is an iconic place in the failboat lore? like if you were to see the eiffel tower in geoguesser you would know you're in paris, france, that sort of thing

Out of curiosity, any headcanons for Failtopia characters that you'd like to share?

hi! i’d be happy to share, here’s a couple!

mar

- some sort of identity/personality disorder? bpd? has trouble keeping stable emotions and often deals with The Voices ™ (apologies if this is a mischaracterization or the incorrect use of bpd! please correct me if i’m wrong)

orion

- post-miitopia (after saving the world) he retires from being a warrior and opens a flower shop with slappo! his soft spot is more prominent but he can and will beat the shit out of shoplifters

friend

- they seem like the kind of person to go nonverbal… they likely know sign language and have taught a few members of the party enough to understand simple statements

- permanent scar on his forehead from lee’s possession

shrimp

- i think that despite being so energetic, shrimp did have really big stage fright when she had just left the ocean and joined mar’s party. so she would (and in my mind still does) practice in front of plushies to get rid of that fear. sometimes the others could hear her from neighboring rooms

- she caught her goth/metal phase from erica

erica

- i think she’s a bit hispanic maybe… it’s either that or she has very tanned skin, but i think it’s kinda fitting to imagine her swearing in spanish. unsure

- definitely a nail biter. will chew them to the skin, to point of bleeding, which makes it really hard sometimes for her to hold a weapon

- she carries a pair of very small magnets with her wherever she goes as a fidget toy sort of thing to keep her from biting her nails. she took them from a scrapped robot enemy in nimbus (definitely not projecting)

- after getting close with the party and forming a sort of sisterly bond with shrimp, erica finds her one day tying beads onto the strings of her hoodies. she acts upset by it, but secretly she likes it (i actually drew her with this once!)

- she’s definitely gone full butch and chopped all her hair short at least once. but she prefers to keep her hair grown out, as she feels too exposed with hair that short

- heavy metal head.

chi

- has made mustard gas before on accident

- has blown up several inns, indebting the party to many a lawsuit.

- has inhaled so many chemical fumes that she’s kinda immune to it now

failboat

- many attempts have been made to burn the catsuit. any and all of them. by the next morning, he somehow, SOMEHOW always finds another one waiting for him. doomed by the plot to forever be a furry

- post-miitopia, he helps erica fix/find new glasses. i think this is one of their main bonding points. aside from being pissed off by chat. blind ass buddies

chat

- can shapeshift into a semblance of any animal or form or even person, but still remains black and blobby with the faces and eyes and stuff. i think its body kinda looks like tar a bit.

- despite this, chat usually stays in an octopus-blob-like form. yknow those videos of an octopuses crops escaping their enclosure where it’s like “if an octopus can find an opening it can fit through”? yeah that’s chat

bo

- i will spread my chubby bo agenda anywhere i possibly can. it’s not even a headcanon actually it’s literally canon

- she does still have a boo form! when she gets really shy/scared/embarrased, she poofs into that form (its most natural for her) and hides her face

big bill

- has a shrimp shrine. makes his own shrimp merch (felt plushies, standees, statues, etc.). oshikatsus quite frequently. too embarrassed to show it to shrimp herself (who already knows) and hides it whenever anyone comes in his room.

- ^^^ quite crafty! i think he’d make little crafts and stuff like origami and hide them in other party members rooms

those are all the ones i have off the top of my head! i tried to put down at least one for each character even if they weren’t very substantial
