WELCOME TO SPACE CAMP!
Today I instructed my first group lesson in Mistfall’s arena. I was a bit nervous since I have not taught a lesson to other riders in a long time. Typically, you find me training horses more but thankfully my lovely space cadets.. I mean riding students were my amazing friends.
I decided to take Autumn with me to this lesson and she was such a trooper! I was really amazed with how well they were listening to my instructions.
Phoebe was riding her gorgeous horse, Ebeneezer. Heather had her lovely Icelandic in purple named Soup, and Holly was riding her zoomy boy who we officially named Tarzan at this lesson!
These girls really impressed me today, I loved how Phoebe picked up all the right leads instantly, she worked amazingly well with her horse. Heather really focused on keeping her horse forward on the flat and during jumping she continued to work on maintaining an appropriate pace not constantly driving Soup towards the jump practically bulldozing it, haha. Then we have Tarzan who had stunning movement on the flat. When Holly and Tarzan started jumping the main focus for them was to maintain the correct lead. The whole group practiced flying lead changes. Overall, it was a great lesson, I am one happy instructor with my space cadets can not wait to do it again!
