Truly enjoying the experience of coffee right now. I’ve begun drinking pour overs ...something I previously regarded as the latest “ snobbery” among coffee drinkers. I’ve been converted. Today @phoenixcoffeeco on Lee Road, the sweet gent who usually makes my Cortado gave me a lesson in the ritual. He walked me step by step through the process , which made sense and was fascinating, but then in the end he said the thing that for me was the most important of all. “ There should always be rituals around coffee and tea... they bring these pleasures to life for us .” If you know me well, then you know that I thoroughly agree. There have always been tea masters, but this process is remarkably similar in spirit....watching him wasn’t unlike watching my father the very first time that he showed me how to drink a rare and luscious single malt scotch... “it has to be neat Beth, in just the right glass... then add a drop or two of branch water...just a little at a time and stir with this sterling spoon.” The ritual prepares you and makes everything taste just that much better. #ritual #coffee #phoenixcoffee @clevelandheightsohio #pourovercoffee #pourover (at Phoenix Coffee Co)
