surprisingly enough, they aren’t from fighting. magic healing usually takes care of any scars, but he got his face sliced open way before he even knew how to properly hold a sword.

long story short, there was an accident when he was 14 and he got a face full of shrapnel for his trouble. not only did that accident take his eye, it killed his dad and ruined his career, too! all in one fell swoop! now that’s what i call efficiency ;0

he’s more bothered by what they remind him of rather than the physical scars themselves, but i mean. he’s definitely not a fan either.

the one on his mouth fucked up the muscles a bit, so now he has this side-smile, not because he’s trying for a cool-guy smirk, but because,, he literally can’t smile any other way. if he tries to pull up the scarred side of his mouth too much it starts getting uncomfortable real fast so he just. doesn’t.

and because harley’s an Objectively Shitty Mesmer (which is a whole nother can of worms hoo boy) he can’t cast a glamour on himself to hide the scars, so he just goes through a ton of makeup instead. he does a pretty good job though, most people can’t even tell he has scars unless they know where to look.

He’s actually just straight up impossible to deal with (at least for Etiery). Hyperactive, overexcited, and impossible to force to sit down, stay quiet, and stop vibrating for a few minutes. He’s hypersensitive to caffeine in probably the most ridiculous way possible, so Etiery just refuses to let him have it to keep herself sane. You can imagine her woes when he got addicted to chocolate-covered coffee beans for a few weeks.
