“Stay close, and the lightning will not so much as come near us.” A suggestion, but traversing the Thunder Plains killed many that attempted to cross. The Maester had made enough trips to Macalania Temple that the concept of being struck was no longer a concern.

Ardyn was simply walking down a busy sidewalk, minding his own business, until a girl passing him by caught his attention. He stopped, causing several irritated people directly behind him to begin moving around him.
“Well, this is an unfamiliar sight,” he said slowly, reaching out to tap the girl’s arm gently. “You... you have a fire in your eyes quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I know not who you are, but one thing is for certain... You’re not what you claim to be.”

Was she greedy for seeking some modicum of power that wasn’t quite hers for the taking? For there were powers that weren’t of the Astrals, summons that could still be acquired. At this forgotten shrine of the Phoenix did Lunafreya genuflect before, hands clasped together in fervent prayer.
“Please, blessed Six, grant me the power of thy servant. I ask this, and this alone!”

“Well, this is a fascinating development. An eidolon made manifest, a great being of flame and resurrection trapped inside such a frail and humble facade. This is turning into quite the interesting drama, indeed. Has fate brought us together? Or has it other plans for us?”

Z knelt down in front of it. It was subtle, that was for certain. If she had a stick, she would’ve been tempted to see what would happen if it were to be set off. But alas, she didn’t and she wasn’t going to be a willing sacrifice either. “It doesn’t feel right leaving it.” Which was odd coming from someone who wouldn’t feel at all. “They monkey’s might get trapped in it.” And woe betide anyone that hurt a monkey. Looking up at the woman, Z asked the important question. “Are you any good at disarming traps?” Even the shitty ones could cause some damage.

“...” If scolds her, that summoner is sure to send him to that plane of the dead... And then how is he to find eternal life? No, no,he must stay on that man’s good side. Which means there shall be none of her blood spilt. Yet.
‘Tis not as though her voice is so bad... Birds are born to sing. Their voices, music, even when they cry for freedom.

The idea, itself, wasn’t a terrible one. At least until her pockets were empty and she realized a small fortune of gil had been spent—or rather, gambled away. She would blame her cohorts for not leaving sooner; playfully, of course, assuming if she could find them. There were so many people gathered in the Calm Lands these days; more than she’d ever seen before, which was great…unless you were searching for others…and then it just became a nuisance.
Arms swung lazily by her sides as she meandered through the passerby’s, occasionally stopping to crane her neck or rise up a bit on her toes—hoping to spot a bouncing blonde thief or a silver-haired warrior—with no such luck. If Clasko’s ranch wasn’t clear across the other side, she would have borrowed one to make it a little easier to navigate.
Alas, with a sigh she turned round on her heel to check other stations when she felt her body connect with something solid, barely avoiding being knocked right off her feet. Wincing a little as she stumbled back, eyes raised just enough to see that it was a person and not a thing, or that she hadn’t simply tripped over herself.
how embarrassing…
“Oh, sorry! I guess I wasn’t paying attention—” Obviously. Yet still, straightening herself out, the apology was sincere. “—are you okay?”
