To say the medium had been sulking ever since everything went down was an understatement. In a town full of freaky shit, she felt helpless, human and weirdly alone. Yeah, she had family (in fact, she couldn't stop thinking about Calahan Macarthy and the inevitability of living in his creepy mansion) and a couple of friends. But it seemed like very few people truly knew what she was going through. How fragile she must seem compared to the rest of them.
Íde couldn't walk. Maybe one day, and hopefully as soon as possible, but that was a problem for someone who lived in a funeral car and was desperate to get as far away from Portum as possible. She couldn't help but be bitter, to act bitter and to take her frustrations out on anyone who would listen, even if said person had been nothing short of kind to her.
Evelyn had been the one to save her life, hadn't she? At the garage.
Still, the younger (much, much younger) Macarthy couldn't quite stop herself from rolling her eyes when the doctor came to visit her. It was a gut reaction to kindness at this point, if a bitter one.
"Ugh. At least your hand actually looks better,"
