Gay Kiss--Fault LP

Gay Kiss hails in Phoenix, AZ bringing a very dark style of hardcore to the table. I picked up their full length, Fault (Anxiety Machine Records), at a generator powered show they played with Nasa Space Universe and MYNX. Their live performance blew me away and made me feel much more satisfied about my album purchase. The first side of the LP consist of 5 brutal songs with composition resembling Rudimentary Peni, early Meat Puppets, and various Jap-core bands. The opening song, 'Deus Ex Machina', instantly had me hooked after hearing Roger (front man) brutally growl "I can't relate! Thought so!". The other 4 tracks transition from one to the other, picking up the pace from the previous track and throwing it back at your face. The second side has to be my favorite. The first track 'New March' has an epic build up that allows the rest of the songs to trickle down and bring the album to an end. Make sure to catch these guys next time they come through.
