Because dinosaurs are fucking awesome, and the idea that they might have been dragons is even cooler still

Many species of raptors were definitely small enough to have supported themselves on small wings, and if they lived in an area where the ground was a bit more swampy, the fossils of things like skin, membranes and cartilage would not have formed properly, leaving us with just the small skeleton that we know as the Velociraptor now. It's also possible that some of the larger dactyls could have been dragons, especially if you add some extra muscle mass to the wings themselves. As for dragons existing today, we know shit all about the ocean, the thing that takes up more space on Earth that earth does. Aquatic dragons would be suh-weeeeeet. People are gunna say that we would have found evidence of them by now, but until 80 years ago, people believed that the Coelacanth was extinct. It's plausible that they are just hiding from humanity, because they are intelligent to know the danger we represent. I'm always open for new ideas on things like this :D
