Parking was paid with an app on the phone, either JustPark or PaybyPhone. Both work well, and the fee comes from the card on my Google account. Now they have to be set up, and I have heard complains that this is more annoying than cash, but once set up I am not sure it is.
Food at restaurant or coffee shop all paid by phone using the card in my Google wallet, really easy just tap and go. In fact my favourite coffee shop says - card only. I did avaoid the restaurant that indicated cash only.
Where to go? Directions form Google Maps - just follow the directions from the app.
Now to achieve this over the whole of the UK does require complete or near complete coverage. Now the holiday was in Cornwall that does not have the best mobile coverage, but I never found a problem.
