Village of Photoksar perched on the edge of the mountain in the Ladakh Himalaya.

Photoksar village hosts a boarding school, so parents walk (trek) their children for 4-7 days from the nearby villages so the children can get an education.

Mud brick houses build on the steep and slowly eroding alluvial fan. Can you spot a pony?

Living on the edge. Everyday over the spring-summer period goats are taken out across the steep slopes to feed on anything green that can be found in this high-altitude desert landscape.

In winter, goats are kept underneath the house to keep the family living above warm.
