Therapeutic Lens Tints

Did you know you can get different colours of lens tints to help with medical conditions?

In this article, we are going to be taking a look at medical lens tints. A custom made tinted lens fitted into a pair of glasses that may help improve your day to day life, whilst living with an ocular medical condition. I think most of us have experienced putting on a pair of glasses that have dramatically change the way we view an image? I mean a polarised lens for example that allows you to see past a reflective surface or a pair of 3D glasses at the cinema when an image on the screen reaches into the audience. So how does all this magic happen, well sorry to disappoint, there is no magic. It's the way the brain receives the transmitted signals (image information) via the optic nerve. The image is sent to the visual cortex of the brain and is then converted into image impulses that make up the image we see. So people who suffer from conditions like migraines, for example, a condition that has been proved to benefit from the FL-41 tint. By removing the harshness of certain colours, the brain is more relaxed with the image it sees. The end result is less intense, less frequent or even stooping the symptoms completely. I have a curse, a curse for the people especially in the 21st century of this world. That's called "photo-sensitive epilepsy" - PSE. Why do I say that? Because today most of the time we are looking at the computer, smartphone, TV screens, ... we are all exposed to flashing lights, moving patterns, flickering images... Those all potential triggers for a seizure of photo-sensitive epilepsy. I've got "another" one last week. It hurts. Hurts your soul more than body when you are shaking unconsciously on the ground, fortunately, you didn't hit your head somewhere or there is someone around you who knows your sickness and treats you accordingly. My lovely Civa the cat, encountered me during my seizure. I was alone in between my bathroom and bedroom. My eyes were open during the seizure and kept like that maybe more than 10 minutes. We likely believe that Civa licked my eyes to make me wake up but it was useless. And then It found a way to jump down to the ground floor from the window then walked to the kitchen through the garden. My colleague found Civa and immediately took it to upstairs back to my room. (Because our boss is allergic to cat hair, forbidden to stay downstairs.) So Civa leads her to find me on the ground. After I woke up my eyes were infected, hurts and is moist for days; possibly because of being licked by Civa and many specks of dust from the ground got into my eyes for 10 minutes. I'm much better now. Trying to keep myself away from commonly known PSE triggers as usual. #photosensitiveepilepsy #photosensitiveseizures
