- obviously they’re traveling in China- I say traveling but really Mari is staying with her great uncle/the maternal side of her family and feeling super out of place- seriously she hates that she looks so Chinese all the stall keepers keep trying to talk to her in Mandarin- she keeps apologizing and asking if they know some English b/c it’s China and nobody really thinks about French at least not where she is- is that Adrien Agreste from her fashion mags hhhhhhOLY CRAP IT IS- (this Marinette ain’t got time to be shy okay)- ((actually she was just so surprise that she kinda blurted his name really loudly and after being surrounded by so much Mandarin her accent stood out like a sore thumb))- turns out he’s investigating the physics department of a university in the area- he’s super surprised to meet someone in this part of China speaking fluent French- she’s really blushu but she gets over it p fast actually- and she is SO JELLY when she hears him speak Mandarin- (she doesn’t know how horrible his accent is bless her 💛)- they’re both gonna be in the region for a while so they might as well hang out right? rightttt?- yeah this rapidly turns into a Chinese coffee shop drama au :’D
