Mentally unwell artists of all varieties, show me your most meaningful art piece and why it’s the most meaningful. (No matter how ‘ugly’ or ‘bad’ or ‘gross’ you think it is/looks)
I’ll go first
This was made in the psych ward a few months ago with minimal supplies (crayola crayons, markers only in group, pages only in the art room). Needle is a weird half-sona I use the represent disassociation, same with the rainbow outline used as a sort of disconnect from the world around him aside the grass he’s standing in. Each bandage is a memory gap, an injury he/I can’t remember happening. Every page cutout is a sort of “excuse”, a small clip of memory to be used as a landmark while the rest remains to the imagination. (I was very lucky to find lines for all the wrapped parts except tail, but we’ll just call that the constant soreness in my tailbone from the way I sit)
All I had to do that whole week was think, draw, and read the whole week and this is what I got outa it. (Didn’t help mentally but the arts cool)
