The visualization at the end of Day 1 of the APCHI conference.
It was a day of learning. Not everyone was wanting to put a pin on the board inspite of us telling them as well as instructions being written.
Our initial ideas on how to make the thread installation were changed after we found it slightly difficult. Ishneet's idea is what we finally used. It reduced our work and made the threads more prominent. Then there was a slight tilt of the pencil which was why we needed to redo the threads. I left the thread lying around and some people actually tried to continue the visualization. This made me realise that perhaps we should make a pinned type of network and have people curve the thread around it. Some others suggested a jigsaw map with countries all around.
I had a short discussion on how in every country, you are thought with your country as the focus of the world map and how when you attend/visit a foreign country, you find it slightly disorienting to find another country at the center (talking with Antonio Pasquale from Frog Design).
So far it's been an awesome networking event and I've met some very interesting people out here.
