Hang in there fellow women scientists, mathematicians, and engineers! We are rising! Forty years ago there was less than 10% of women in physics or engineering. Now the number has risen to 20%. Sadly this still means physics and engineering is a mans world. I was told by many physics professors that sexism still exists. They looked at me and told me that their wives (who are physicist as well) experience or had experienced some kind of sexism. My department isn't sexiest. Actually my department is just happy when someone chooses physics as a major! Lol there are many of you who will experience some form of sexism or racism. Do not be afraid to speak out. No one should prevent you from enjoying science.

Mathematical physics is one of the hardest classes I've ever had. I'm not afraid to admit this is my second time retaking this class. This time I understand way more than I did last year. The feel of constantly failing is on my mind this week and probably the rest of the week. DO NOT be ashamed for retaking a class in college/university. Sometimes classes are really hard and sometimes life gets in the way. But just because you fail doesn't mean you have to give up. In America they teach you if you fail then go on doing something else. When most of the success stories from people that created companies or became scientist or extra failed. They stuck to what they loved. If you failed and still love it. Then go try it again. This time change the way you learn. Try asking more questions. Challenge yourself. You have this!
