OK SO IN PHYSICS THEY TOLD US HOW THEY CHECK PLANE WINGS TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE NOT BROKEN and I'd actually worried about this before so I want you guys to know too in case you were worried about this.
So basically when magnets are passed over metal, they make localized currents in the metal that swirl around, and if there's an imperfection in the metal like a micro-crack or something that got lodged in the wing they can compare the measured amount of current created with the ideal amount of current that could be created with that type of metal. Cracks and stuff will severely reduce the conductivity (the charges can't jump even a tiny gap as well as it can flow through straight metal), so they can tell if there's any damage and where it is.
They can tell after every flight and do this without taking apart and reassembling the plane and without an amount of heat that would warp the plane and so there actually is a way for them to check it!
