I'm always grateful and feel so blessed to get a chance to spend time outdoors!! It's essential to get some sun, fresh air and take in that zingy smell of phytoncide!! Phytoncide is the aroma emitted by trees and plants in the forest to protect themselves from harmful insects and from rotting. Dr. Qing Li, a professor at Nippon Medical School, discovered that frequent visits to forests for "forest bathing" can promote good health and happiness. He said that we suffer from nature deficit disorder, and exposure to forests to inhale phytoncides has several benefits. It can reduce stress levels and blood pressure, strengthen our immune and cardiovascular systems, boost energy, mood, creativity, concentration, decrease depression and anger, and even help us lose weight and live longer. Sadly we no longer have parks with enough trees in it to generate phytoncides we need. 😔 He recommends spending at least two hours in the forest once a week. Do go out and look for that green space. Feel the difference and find your peace. Have a great week ahead. 💚 #phytoncide #forestbath #naturedeficitdisorder #shirinyoku #stressreliever #healthylifestyle (at Antipolo, Rizal) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKuuXV3nGFC/?igshid=a7s8xc72fykn
