Cookie Cooking || Popuri & Angelo

Today Popuri was excited to hang out with one of her favorite people, who also just so happened to be her next door neighbor. Yep! Angelo! It was nice having someone she was so close to living so close! She got to spend lots of time with him. They did things together all the time.

The plan of the day was to make and decorate cookies with ingredients and candies they’d gotten during the post-valentines day sale the market was having. This wasn’t the first time they’d baked together. Popuri liked baking with Angelo because he made such pretty sweets. He was an artist, after all, so everything he decorated came out beautifully. The things she decorated were never as pretty, but in the end they all taste the same so it didn’t matter to her! As long as she had fun and got to eat lots of sweets. The table was set with bowls of candies and frosting and sprinkles and other items you could decorate cookies with. The cookies themselves were currently cooling. Popuri hated waiting, but if she didn’t then all the frosting would just melt off the cookie! “Angieeeeeeee how much longer do we have to waiiiiittttt,” Popuri whined.

Aquatic Artistry

Leia sighed. Work was slow. The aquarium was mostly empty. There was no one asking for pictures to be taken, so she didn’t have anything to do. 

You would think Leia would know all about fish, but she was still learning for her job. She learned some of the basics for if anyone asks about a fish. There were just so many fish, it was hard to remember information about each one and which is which. It was more stressful than she thought it would be. So for now, she would stick to photos. 

Staring at a bright striped Angelfish, Leia tried to remember what kind it was. Maybe it was the Zebra Angelfish? No, that’s a freshwater fish.  She almost didn’t notice the man sitting in front of the tank. What was he doing? Drawing? No, painting.

Leia inched closer, trying to get a better look at what the man with beautiful hair was painting, until she was right behind him and said, “Wow, you’re really good!”

•｡ ღ 𝓛ife imitates art - a laughable philosophy to her, standing there at the top of the first staircase before it divides into two separate sets where a strikingly beautiful portrait of her family hung on the wall; she was seeking the meaning of life that was once so vibrant in the painting - at least, before. Every refined stroke on the expansive palette was intentional - portraying each member of the Hunt family with the honor and dignity they deserved and, of course, possessed; oh, how eternally grateful she was to the heavens above for twining the stars together and creating this for her of all people - one who appeared to have whatever she wished for at her fingertips, but what was missing was the love she always yearned for - discovered in her husband, daughter, and son.

𝓛ove. A fickle thing - intangible yet powerful beyond one’s wildest imagination; yet, as she stood there tracing each figure with her eyes... the love was absent.

“𝒯ell me...” Sofia sensed the presence of the family artist looming within her vicinity; thus, she spoke to him without facing him. “What... does this painting... mean to you? It means... nothing... to me.”
