"Portrait of a Lady" attributed to Giovanni Maria delle Piane called Mulinaretto (1660-1745).
I did a quick doodle the other day and really loved how the pose turned out, so I decided I wanted to color it. So today I did it! Still surprisingly quick.
Also, Krita brushes rock.
I hadn’t posted this one here, so I’m putting it up now, ‘cause I like it. I’ve got a frew more things that are not bad at all, and I’ll probably post these days (I’m on vacations!) to keep some sort of count.
Looking back, I’m quite damn proud at what I made this year. Specially because I feel it was pretty stress free. I feel like my drawing is something I’m quite comfortable with at this point and that’s quite the accomplishment, I believe.
This year I’m going to focus on writing... I feel like that’s totally my neglected first kid skill. Really, though. Drawing and programming are fun and all, but to me, they’re storytelling tools. Even my degree was something I did because I thought it would be good and helpful to tell stories... the kind of stories I love and connect with. But I haven’t focused on writing, like really writing, for a long time. It’s always around and I still do it a lot in some way or the other, but I have a terrible time focusing on it, so I want to find some technique to it. I don’t want to freeze a project for a year because I freaking dread writing a dialogue, anymore. I’m a big girl and I want to be able to do it and I think I can. So this year I’ll be trying to find my way to work on it, the tools that I’m comfortable with and all that stuff. Wish me luck.
I probably won’t share that, though. But whatever, drawings are still coming here and there’s stuff coming! My stickers are coming along very nicely, for example ;D.
My beloved muses, my players' characters. I'm making them pretty character sheets for print and... well, they won't be pretty without a cute portrait.
Also I'm dang proud of where my art is right now. Say whatever you will about comfort zones, I worked dang hard to have one and I'll take advantage of it. I love learning and all, but sometimes it's just nice to say "hey, you know what... I have this idea and I can simply DO IT without doubting about my entire being".
On the other hand, I hope I'll soon be able to GET GOING with the game instead of... making stuff for it. But I'm in vacations and in a good mood and today I feel like sometime soon enough I'll be as confident as a GMing as I am right now with my art.
