Is it me or has mammyism and pickemeism just spread to other communities? For example, in the lgbt community, some y’all will be fighting tooth and nail and busting your backs out for rapists, creeps, and overall pieces of shit just because they’re part of the lgbt community. Someone explain to me how these people are any different than the women protesting for R Kelly to be released because “they’re just trying to keep another good black man down!”. I swear if R Kelly came out as gay or bisexual today, the Black and rainbow mammies and pickme’s would be outside the prison screaming for R Kelly’s immediate release from prison.
Which brings me to another point of black men not being held accountable for their actions within the black community. You still have people mocking and laughing at Megan Thee Stallion for crying about getting shot by Tory Lanez when she was being interviewed by Gayle King. The Black community is still screwing with R Kelly and Bill Cosby. In general, how many times have we heard the story of some black man killing his girlfriend or family and people are throwing excuse in the book so as to absolve him of any accountability for his actions. Usually these excuses consist of “Well what did she do to him?”
“He didn’t mean to, he must be mentally ill!”
“Imma need more facts for this story because he doesn’t look like he would do that. She must’ve done something to him.”
I can’t even feel safe within my own communities. If I get shot and that person is a black man or boy, there’s going to be no consequences besides the possibility of jail or prison, because the black community doesn’t hold it’s criminals accountable and actively protects and provides for them. Which @lemoncholy-me has talked about before in her ghetto culture post.
