My kids are super sensitive about litter. They are awesome about picking it up when they see it. Sometimes I gotta intervene because they don’t have gloves and it’s something super gross, so I don’t let them touch that. Lol then the hand sanitizer ensues. But, today it was pick up the litter than blew into grandma’s yard. They were on a mission (required helmets apparently... My brother and I took a nice walk to his pharmacy, and we picked up four bags of garbage on the way there and back. We have learned that food tongs help us pick things up without hurting our backs. We learned this from a video of billionaire in China who also picks up litter. People sometimes thank us for doing this. I think it's primarily selfish. I want a nice neighborhood. I want #LoveLansing to be a great place to live. If I pick stuff up while I'm walking, I can make a difference. We tend to walk at least once a day. Just think of all the litter that we can make disappear! I especially don't want litter near the lower-elementary school on our walk.
