I judt realized if you wanted do a domestic au where Pico’s not a mercenary/killer for hire and is just a normal guy then all you gotta do is make it a delusion. he’s schizophrenic, im sure having some kind of horrible guilt ridden delusion about having murdered dozens of people is something entirely possible for a person with that kinda disorder to have
