OOC: How did you come to settle on your FC? Were there any others you considered?
[Doing Qns in Bulk and these are the OOC qns!] OCC Questions: So when Diana was first conceived as a concept, I always knew she was going to be an Indian girl and especially a dark skinned one at that. I just wanted to represent someone who looks like me in an OC. The only two Indian/Desi actresses I really liked and were on my mind at the time were Dilshad Vadsaria - who I had already used for my very first OC as Calista - and Jameela Jamil.
So Jameela was Diana for a long time especially for her Tahani outfits and I even based some of her privilege on her but Jameela’s age was a factor even though she looked youthful.
While Simone Ashley was on my radar as the girl from Sex Education, I don’t think I fully considered her until she was cast for Bridgerton Season 2. It was her sharp angles (I wanted Di’s personality reflected in her physical appearance) and right age as Diana that really sealed the deal for me. Not to mention she’s stunning so you could see why people like Ken and Charles would go for her despite being a Seven and against their families’ approval.
The rest is history!
