Kandi Cuff Tutorial: Multi/picture cuff. *Notes: I'm sorry. I'm terrible at explaining things. That's why i have the pictures. This was made by me, Penguin... If you want to use it for something else, ASK ME FIRST. Pull tight. If you don't, it won't stay together. if you pull the base (row 1) too tight, it will pucker. It takes practice, and is something I still have trouble with. ----- Start by stringing an even number of beads on a very long piece of string. My advice: Get the longest piece you're comfortable working with. Most patterns are 30, 32, or 34 beads around. Turn this string into a single, but leave a short end and a (very) long end. If you are working off a numbered pattern, this will be row #1. String a single bead on the long end, then thread it through the next bead from the base: Keep going, stringing a bead and then going back through the next on the base. If you're using a numbered pattern, this is your row #2. Continue this all the way around: It shouldn't be standing up just yet, so don't freak out. It'll start standing usually around row #3-4... depending on how tight it's pulled. When you have row 2 done, pull the string through the first bead of row two. And do the same process for row #3. This time, you'll be stringing a bead and then pulling the string through the beads from row #2: Pull tight so it'll start to stand. Again, string through the first bead of the row to start the next row: Keep going until you're happy with the size or until the pattern's complete. When you're finished, pull the string through a few more beads in the pattern, and then knot the string around the string that's holding the cuff together. If you're making a smaller cuff, you can pull the string through so it meets with the smaller piece from the bottom of the cuff and knot that together. Make sure it's knotted so you won't lose any beads -- I'll knot it 2 or 3 times. Questions/Comments? Don't be afraid to ask!
