In response to that post about never seeing a picture or video of the white person dead on the news, what about the Manchester Bombing?
I don’t know what news coverage was like in other places, but I didn’t see any bodies in that coverage. The most graphic thing I saw was a guy limping with blood running down his face. Yeah, there are probably exceptions, where news services are being disrespectful to anyone regardless of race (and don’t get me wrong - I don’t want to see more white bodies on the news to make up the imbalance!), but on balance I’ve seen a lot more non-white bodies shown by news services. I reblogged that post because most people wouldn’t necessarily think about this kind of an imbalance, but once it’s pointed out it’s hard not to notice.
