Pie Town is a small community of about 200 people in western New Mexico, founded in the early 1920s by Clyde Norman, a World War I veteran & homesteader who gained fame for baking pies with dried apples for travelers along U.S. Route 60.

“Majestic Sombrero Galaxy” Location: Pie Town, New Mexico, USA, 5 May 2021 “This image shows the faint star streams that were created when a smaller galaxy collided with, and its remnants then began to orbit, the Milky Way. Three versions of the photograph were made: a muted version for the background, a regular version for the disc and a super-stretched starless version for the stellar streams and halo. They were then combined into a single image.”

TN to New Mexico and back again. Stunning state. New Mexico - who knew!
A week long visit to New Mexico. Great state to visit, even if it was a little colder than I would have liked for camping. So many surprises. Sadly the Pueblos were closed to protect the residents so no Indian Fried bread or crafts which just means a return visit is required in the future.Two days there and two days back. I wish the return journey wasn’t so long – its always so much more tedious…
