Jersey Tiger Moth by Richard Walker Via Flickr: Euplagia quadripunctaria, the Jersey tiger, or Spanish flag, is a diurnal moth of the family Erebidae. This specimen seen in our Dorset (UK) garden. The species was first described by Nikolaus Poda von Neuhaus in 1761. The adult wingspan is 52–65 millimetres (2.0–2.6 in), and they fly from July to September, depending on the location. They tend to fly close to hemp-agrimony, Eupatorium cannabinum. In most of their range, the aposematic adults have red underwings. In the northwest part of their range, the adults are polymorphic for underwing colour, being variously red, orange, or yellow.

Foreign Tongues by Richard Walker Via Flickr: Foreign Tongues is the twenty-fifth studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 10 July 2026. Produced by Andrew Watt, the album features musical contributions from Steve Jordan, Darryl Jones, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith, Paul McCartney, Benmont Tench, Bruno Mars, and Chad Smith, among others. It also features a song recorded with Charlie Watts prior to his death. The CD album is presented in a cardboard gateleg sleeve with a photographic and full lyrics insert. The Album was recorded in the Henson (Los Angeles) and Metropolis Studios (London) ARTWORK - The album's cover art is a 2025 pastel drawing by American artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn, whose work has been described as "fractured, dreamlike portraits [which] assemble identity from overlapping memories, emotions, and experiences rather than conventional likeness".Entitled Trinity, it consists of a composite, collage-like surrealist portrait of the bandmembers' faces. The artwork has met with a divided reception, with Euronews dismissing it as "retina punishing". The lead single, "In the Stars", was released through YouTube and streaming services on 5 May 2026 along with double A-side "Rough and Twisted", which had previously been released only in extremely limited quantities as a physical twelve-inch single several weeks earlier under the pseudonym of The Cockroaches, which the band had occasionally used in the 1970s to perform secret shows at smaller venues. Most Likely.... by Richard Walker Via Flickr: Celebrating 60 Years of Blonde on Blond. Bob Dylan released Blonde on Blonde, a paradigm-shifting intimate blend of folk, rock, blues, and country music, and Dylan’s vivid, surreal lyricism. This recently released track is the Bob Dylan/Mark Ronson version of "Most likely you go your way and I'll go mine" (one of the tracks from the album) I prefer the original version!

The Odeon Union Street Bristol by Richard Walker Via Flickr: The Art Deco Style Odeon cinema Bristol UK opened in 1938 (now closed as a cinema) Designed by Thomas Cecil Howett on the site of a former Fry’s chocolate factory, it served as a city-center staple for 88 years. In 2026, the venue closed its doors and relocated to the Cabot Circus Development also in Bristol. This historic and much loved building is now to be redeveloped into an arts, music and nightclub space for the city. photo by Martin Booth

1973 Citroen SM Coupe by Richard Walker Via Flickr: 1973 Citroen SM Coupe Notable for its six headlights, License Plate behind Glass, Aerodynamic shape and front track 8" wider than the rear, it has a Maserati V6 2.7L (170Bhp) Engine , All disc Brakes, Self Leveling suspension, speed sensitive power steering, 12,920 units were built, production ceased in 1973, this one is one of the last to be built.

1954 Harper Scootermobile by Richard Walker Via Flickr: 1954 Harper Scooter (built by Harper ex-aircraft builders in the UK) it has a single cylinder Villiers 197cc (8Bhp) Air-Cooled 2-Stroke Engine, a fiberglass streamlined body with twin headlights, electric starter and turn indicators. This is the only remaining example

Bruton Dovecote by Richard Walker Via Flickr: The Bruton Watchtower/ Dovecote / Somerset / UK It seems likely that this square three storey structure was originally erected as a watch tower. From surviving relieving arches it appears that the building at one time had four two light windows on the middle floor and possibly a door opening on the south-west elevation. The mouldings on the present doorway and of the window frames appear to date to the 17th century. "An old drawing of the early 18th century shows a chimney and it then had a roof. The windows have obviously been altered in shape and some blocked up ...... once had a first floor storey and a fireplace and was used for some sort of habitation" ( Couzens P 1968, 40). Appears unlikely to have been the Pigeon House for the Priory as it was "too far away from the Priory and has only 200 nests in it whereas dovecotes usually had many hundreds if they were made for a useful purpose" ( ibid). It was presumably during the 1700s that the building was converted into a dovecote, presumably by the Berkeley family. The Tower is in the care of The National Trust The images are archival

Not Down but Up...! by Richard Walker Via Flickr: Foxglove with flowers that face upward instead of the usual downward facing blooms. 'Candy Mountain': Known as the first upward-facing foxglove available from seed, this variety features large, striking rose-pink blooms that encircle the stem and point straight up at the sky. This specimen appeared for the first time this year in my Dorset garden and I have no idea where it came from as the only other foxgloves I have are the standard variety...
