❧ describe their usual sleeping position
Edgar is an insomniac. This is fueled by a busy mind that moves too quickly and stays focused on very few things for any extended period of time. The majority of his nights he spends awake, left to his own thoughts - which he goes out of his way to avoid by reading or walking. The best part of becoming Prefect, in Edgar’s opinion, was the fact that he was given the ability to walk the halls of Hogwarts after curfew and call it ‘patrolling’.
Once he does manage to get some sleep, however, whether it be naturally or with the help of a personally brewed sleeping draught, he’s a side sleeper who hardly moves at all once sleep finally grasps him. If anything, he’ll switch to his other side, but by morning, his bed is hardly disturbed.
The only exception to this is after occasional nightmares, and he’ll wake up tangled in his blankets, desperately attempting to catch his breath. He’d never had to worry about nightmares until he was near sixteen, and he faced a boggart that had lodged itself into an old wardrobe in the Bones home the Summer before his sixth year. It had fallen to him to take care of it, and the task was easy enough - but the image of Amelia’s mutilated corpse, boggart or not, has since haunted him.
