Maddie Kelso, piercing apprentice, and this weeks person of Havana Street Tattoo. Maddie began her apprenticeship eighth months ago under Kramer Heckart. She has been spending much of her free time studying anatomy and has taken a great personal interest in metallurgy. Her inspirations are some the most innovative piercers in the industry, they all share the common goal of safety for the client above everything else. Maddie has taken to this school of thought with such vigor, she personally insures every piercing related item that passes through sterile processing is checked, dated, and properly sterilized even to the point of staying after hours to do so. She is currently piercing nostrils and some parts of the ear under supervision. Kramer has high hopes for Maddie “...she shows a true passion for the art and science of modification, she is not just piercing to pay the bills or because its cool.” In the following months Maddie will begin to do more complicated piercings and hone her skills. When asked about her goals Maddie has said what is first in her mind is to “ survive an apprenticeship”.
