Pierre Brice's French Wikipedia pages has an interesting bit about his early days in days in cabaret:

(He asked a female friend and colleague to pass him off as gay, so that he wouldn't be harassed by the bourgeois women who surround him.)

I've read that kind of fic, I know how this usually ends. 😂😂😂

But also, while the wiki page is very vague on dates, this must have been in the 1950s. Makes me quite curious to find out more.
