Less frequent, more heartwarming I am happy to be back to my '4:00 pm-only' coffee time. I have been trying to stick to one cup of coffee a day for a while. This was the routine I had in Timor-Leste, when I was mostly at home, not being at a full-time job, as I did, before moving to the half-island country. Having it once a day makes it a more present-in-the-moment time. I think, that's how some things are more heartwarming when they are less frequent. Coffee has also become one of the many subjects to study, for the little one. She demands a spoonful-sample for tasting. This study seems to be over, she didn't ask for one today. Mango-ginger is in the house! Today, we were lucky to find mango-ginger in the supermarket close to home. During the lockdown, we are happy to stick to the very basics (mostly); but, if we do get to have the stuff we are crazy about, we are super happy. My father loves mango-ginger pickle. We have been making it at home, since it is one of the things, that tastes better when mom-made than being market-made. And now, the whole family loves it. He bought quite some today. Little one loved the dunking-them-in-water part, while I scrubbed them. The other father-favourites that have became family traditions eventually are mushrooms and the movie, ‘The Karate Kid (2010)’.
