Yayyyy Escaflowne Secret Santa time! Thanks to @esca-ss / @radical-rad1986 for doing this again this year. 

My SFW giftee was @pikafwance! which was hard coz we’ve been chatting a lot lately. She loves Allen so I had to do this lovely wintery Allen laid out for her.

The timelines are a little jenky in Escaflowne. Apparently Allen was 15 when when Celena was kidnapped. He looks 10-12. But yeah.

Yeah the time is kinda not too clear cut sometimes depending on where you’re looking. But I think you had the right idea about how he looks 10-12, seeing as Celena was about 5 when she was taken Allen would have been around 11 (based on speculation that Dilandau has been around for about a decade and Allen being 21 in the series). I think Allen was about 15/16 when he and Marlene did the hanky-panky. Which explains Chid’s age and the time difference between when Allen trained under Balgus to the point he was a knight of Asturia. Our current fifteen year olds would be about 10ish when Chid was born. (Given Millerna’s age when Marlene left she looks to be a bit younger than Allen had been when Celena disappeared so that’s where it gets a bit hairy.) I think its on the more safe side to assume they were mid to late teens when they had Chid. 

But all in all I just think Chid is that child prodigy that learned how to speak at a year old, could read by 2 and knew basic combat by 4. 

Specifics are never given and how Allen and his mess can contradict a few things in regards to the rest of the storyline. Especially trying to figure out months and who is technically older of the them all.
