What do men and women long for? Where do a man and a woman meet when they are in love? At the sexual part of the body...”

“What is so wonderful about Mother is that she trusts everything I say. She has absolutely obeyed what I have said, and therein lies her greatness. She has been put into situations in which a lot of women would have opposed me. But she overcame all this and became the kind of a daughter whom Father can trust. Mr. Moon obviously didn’t have the courage to admit his sexual exploits in a direct manner. But it’s quite obvious what he’s trying to say here. All we have to do is look at what led up to the first God’s Day in 1968 to understand Mr. Moon's “careful” phrasing.

The Unification Movement: Key Issues in Historical Perspective

From its humble and somewhat obscure origins in post-World War II Korea, the new religious movement founded by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon had established a worldwide presence by the end of the twentieth century. Even if the core membership was never in the millions sometimes claimed by the movement itself, an exceptional level of dedication was demanded of most adherents, which acted as a force multiplier. The ability of their charismatic leader to draw upon the members’ loyalty by mobilising them into a wide range of outreach programmes and parallel business activities has promoted a narrative of constant progress and growing acceptance within the wider community...

The reality is more problematic: at least some of the reactions involved were generated by the Unification Movement’s opaque modus operandi and the personal lifestyle of the man who created it as a vehicle for his messianic ambitions, and who controlled its direction over six decades. Since Moon’s passing on 3 September 2012 at the age of 92, certain facts have emerged which reveal more of the hidden story behind the version of his life depicted in the official autobiography As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen (Moon, 2010), which assiduously avoids all mention of the names of two sons, Hee Jin (born in Japan in August, 1955) and Samuel (born in [Washington, DC] USA in January, 1966), whom he fathered with women outside marriage. …

In effect, the persistent, but always denied, rumours of Moon’s sexual engagements outside marriage have now been conditionally admitted to core members, who have been advised to view them as part of his unique ‘providential’ mission. This content has not so far been approved as being open for public discussion; in any published texts it has been ‘coded’.

Korean Roots: The Socio-cultural and Religious Background Any attempt to place the Unification movement and its founder within a historical perspective must give due emphasis to its Korean roots. Knowledge of Korea’s socio-cultural and religious history provides insight into Unificationist practices.

Korea is said to have had a 5000 year history equal to anything seen in China or Japan.  Factionalism was the bane of Korean history, and while this was by no means a uniquely Korean problem, it took on peculiarly damaging forms in that culture. As the 500-year-old Yi dynasty declined towards the end of the nineteenth century, Korea was no longer able to resist foreign interference and colonisation by Japan.

Korea’s religious history presents a rich tapestry, ranging from indigenous shamanism, through absorbing the Chinese traditions of Taoism (seen today in the national flag of South Korea), to the missionary religions of Buddhism and Christianity. These imported religions became associated with state power—first Buddhism, and then neo-Confucianism—which led to a major cultural transformation under the Yi. The first Catholic missionaries and their converts experienced severe persecutions between 1801 and 1871. In the final attempts to wipe out western influence, as many as eight thousand Catholic converts and nine French priests were executed. However, after the removal of the Prince Regent and the conservative faction of the Confucian bureaucracy, Christians were allowed to operate openly (Grayson, 2002).

The priests and missionaries encountered a society influenced by folk shamanism and the more formal culture associated with Confucianism. The scholar Chong-sun Kim has observed that “From antiquity to the present, the shaman has been a key figure in Korean life, and any study of Korean history warrants a close investigation of shamanism. In Korea the links between evangelical religions and shamanism are particularly strong because shamanistic beliefs have persisted down to contemporary times” (Kim, 1978). Kim also notes that these two cultures have tended to exist in a state of tension, resulting in Koreans abandoning their Confucian propriety to indulge in folk rituals such as fertility rites and summoning spirits. He notes that Korean kings also played the role of shamans. For example, the gold crowns of the Silla dynasty kings (which Moon adopted in ceremonies) featured stylized deer antlers, an ancient shamanic icon.

The Role of the Concubine in Pre-modern Korea and Ancient Israel It was an acceptable and fairly common practice for men in traditional Korean society to take secondary wives, if they were wealthy enough to support them. This arrangement usually ensured they would produce sons, thereby fulfilling the primary duty to their ancestors of maintaining the lineage. It was also common to divorce wives that did not bear sons, leading to the wives’ social exclusion and economic hardship. The Confucian social code was inflexibly patriarchal, setting out seven commandments for married women, including the obligation to bear sons and the injunction not to be jealous of their husbands’ concubines (Palmer, 1986). The Korean woman was expected to submit to three men during her life: her father, her husband and her son. This was called ‘The Honour of the Three Submissions’ (Yoon, 2011). At the apex of the society, the kings of Korea maintained strings of concubines.

The widespread practice of taking concubines continued even under the Japanese. For Sun Myung Moon, born into those times, such arrangements would have been part of the social fabric, and even culturally acceptable.

After his family’s conversion to Christianity, he would have become familiar with Biblical history, including the custom of polygamy. There is no indication from within those texts that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob deemed those practices immoral. As his own theology and sense of mission began to develop, Moon’s own words indicate a powerful sense of identification with the central figures in these tableaux. Like Abraham, his seed would number as the stars. Like Jacob, who gained victory over the angel, Moon would also sire twelve sons, who would in turn create twelve clans to become twelve tribes. In the Divine Principle, Moon’s descendants would become the ‘third Israel’, a new chosen people.

This emphasis on the role of the Biblical patriarchs as progenitors does, however, have its limitations and cautionary tales. The great lawgiver Moses did not follow this pattern, and the Ten Commandments could not have been more specific about the sins of fornication and adultery. However, the period of the judges was followed by the era of the kings, who are recorded as having taken wives and concubines at their pleasure. David’s first six wives had all borne him sons, then he became so infatuated with Bathsheba that he conspired to place her loyal husband Uriah at the front of the battle, his valiant death clearing the way for David. In his later years he is said to have sent away a group of sixty concubines. Solomon, his son by Bathsheba, is recorded as having six hundred wives, many of whom were foreign. Solomon’s God was not happy with this state of affairs, especially the foreign gods they imported leading to the division of his realm into two separate kingdoms after his death.

The Great Progenitor and the New Future of Humankind There would appear to be three levels or ranks to the new lineage that Moon was intent on creating. The first comes from his own progeny (the ‘fruit of his loins’, in the Biblical expression). The second is made up by the so-called ‘royal couples’ (all Korean), whose wives received the ‘pikareum’ or blood cleansing ceremony directly from Moon himself. He planned to select spouses for his own ‘sinless’ True Children from among the second generation of these families. The third and much larger group is formed by the families of all those couples who have received the holy wine and the blessing of the True Parents, then completed the three-day ceremony during which their marriage was consummated. It was explained by Hyo-Jin (Moon’s [second] True Child [Ye Jin was the first]) to the older blessed children that future generations of the ever-expanding True Family would share their bloodline with the descendants of the blessed families, engrafted into the Moon lineage through the marriage blessing. In this way, the Tree of Life first mentioned as an ideal in Genesis would become a substantial reality.

The Unification Movement: Court, Church and ‘Chaebol’ Moon and his early followers established the various components of the Unification Movement as an integrated platform from which to advance his aspirations. First, attending the Moon family with due reverence, is a carefully selected and trusted household staff or court, including a group of well-trained security personnel on 24-hour alert. Staff members lived in close proximity to the Moons, to ensure the maintenance of their ‘kibun’, or sense of well-being. The key positions are held by Koreans. In America, where palatial mansions are kept in readiness for their visits to New York, Las Vegas and Hawaii, Japanese and American members are used in addition for secondary roles. Moon usually held meetings with senior church and business leaders over extended breakfast sessions, during which he would listen to reports, set goals and give directions on strategy.

The church secondly functions as a faith community, holding weekly worship services and conducting outreach programmes which bear witness to the ‘new truth’ of the Divine Principle and the coming of the Lord of the Second Advent and his bride as the True Parents of humankind. The church teaches that whereas in past ages the way to God was first through sacrifices and then through faith, in the Completed Testament Age it is by attendance as adopted members of the True Family, who are then prepared for the Blessing.

The movement’s third component resembles a ‘chaebol’, or Korean-style business conglomerate, in most cases the product of the vision and drive of a lone entrepreneur, which is then handed on to one or more of Moon’s sons. This business empire, now worth many billions of dollars, has played an essential role in supporting the Moon family’s lifestyle, as well as funding organs of influence such as the Washington Times newspaper, and covering the cost of lawsuits, including recent ones between Moon’s eldest living son, Hyun-jin (Preston) and his associates, who gained control of the board of the movement’s major holding company in the USA, Unification Church International (UCI), and all its assets (Mickler 2013).

As a means of providing a “providential” explanation for at least some of Moon’s apparent violations of his own teachings, in 2009/10 the Church’s Korean leadership came out with a revised version of its core teaching, renamed the Original Divine Principle (in Korean, the same word translated as “Original” is used for ‘True’), including an explanation of the concept of the change of blood lineage which included the memorable phrase, ‘the journey of God’s sperm’. Part of this content surfaced in an earlier version in Japan as far back as the early 1990s, when the movement there was faced with a series of magazine articles and television interviews with several of the earliest Korean members, including Moon’s first wife, Sun-gil Choi, testifying to the existence of the hidden pikareum ritual (referred to as ‘chiwake’ in Japanese). …

The possibility of another Great Disappointment (or a Reality Check) How will history view Sun Myung Moon? As a truly messianic figure, one ‘anointed’ by heaven to usher in a golden age of peace and plenty, or as yet another Oriental ‘mystagogue’?

Since coming to public attention, Moon has lived his life as though orchestrating a movie, and much of his later life, both public and private, was captured in photographs and recorded on video or audio by teams of technicians who, according to his wishes, have created a large archive for posterity. His many, many words have been transcribed into collected works in many languages, with the sense that they, as well as the Divine Principle, are sacred scripture.

Something else could be sensed at his strangely solemn ‘seonghwa’ (‘ascension and harmony’) ceremony. It was the sense that he had not in fact lived, as he had predicted, to usher in ‘Foundation Day’ on the date he had set, 22 February 2013.

Was Hyun-jin, correct when he issued a statement to the members at that time saying that there was not enough of a foundation to declare Foundation Day (the beginning of a new era, or heaven on earth)? According to the Master of Ceremonies at Moon’s seonghwa, Moon said in his final prayer that he had ‘completed, perfected and concluded’ his mission although the reunification of the Korean peninsula which Moon predicted, prayed for and worked towards, would remain an unrealised dream.

As more details have continued to come out which substantiate many of the longstanding rumours about Sun Myung Moon’s hidden history, perhaps a different conclusion may be reached: that the Unification Movement will serve as an example of the use of historical research to deconstruct a new religious myth while it is in the process of being formed.

Sun Myung Moon was arrested for imprisoning a female student for three days. He starved her.

Soon-shil Choi was the sister of Sam Park’s mother. She was trying to leave Moon’s sex cult and so he imprisoned her in 1955. Moon was able to keep her the group at that time. He planned to marry her in 1959, before he ended his 40th year (in Korean age a person is one year old at birth). Soon-shil escaped just before the wedding was to be held in the fall of 1959. Moon was beyond furious and had to marry someone else, Hak Ja Han, early in 1960. [Sam Park explains this.]

The story of Moon and the 1955 Ewha Woman’s University sex scandal was all over the newspapers in Korea, and was also reported in Japan. The Unification Church became infamous and recruiting became very difficult. The members went to rural areas where fewer people had seen the scandalous news reports. Sometimes, according to an FBI report, recruiters paid people to join. Korea was poverty stricken following the 1950-53 war, and so some did take the money and join.

The female university student who Moon imprisoned was Soon-shil Choi. At the time she was a 22-year old student at Yonsei University. Her sister, Soon-wha Choi, went to Ewha Woman’s University. According to other sources Moon dressed Soon-shil Choi in white robes and withheld food for three days. He was apparently coercing her to stay in his church. Her brother, Soon-yong Choi, alludes to the Unification Church using force: “the stark realities of the almost forceful missionary work done in the early days of the Unification Church.”  LINK

Diary of UC President Hyo-won Eu, who was involved in the Ewha ‘7.4 incident’. (July 4 incident) “In his position as president of our family in Korea for 15 years, he wrote almost daily in his diary, reporting to Father and making a plan for the following day.”

Hyo-won Eu refers to 催淳實 / 催淳実 Choi Soon-shil as Sung Sil Choi

Hyo-won Eu’s diary: “May 11, 1955. Lecturing all day to people whom Kyung Ku led to the center. Four people from Ewha University were expelled from the dormitory. I came downstairs and saw Kil-ja [Sa – later blessed to Hyo-won Eu], Mong Sa, Mee Shik [Shin – later blessed to Papasan Choi] and Myung Jin [Seo] eating. Everyone was smiling. After the evening service was over I tried to bring them to Mr. Yang’s house to stay there. I was so impressed by their determination. I wrote a petition to the professors of the school at their request.”

▲ Here is ‘Mr. Yang’. Her name is Yang Yoon-yeong. She was a music professor at Ewha Woman’s University, and was also involved with music at Yonsei University. Her house was located mid way between Ewha and Yonsei Universities. Hyo-won Eu often taught the Divine Principle at her house. Myung-hee Kim lived there for a while, before going to Japan to give birth to Moon’s child, Hee-jin (born in Tokyo on August 17, 1955).

Hyo-won Eu’s diary: “July 4, 1955 (day of great persecution) Today I determined to die seven times. In the evening, the newsmen came again, scurrying around, taking pictures of Teacher. Shortly afterwards, Investigator Oh and Chief Investigator Kim came over to ask Teacher to come to the station in order to tape an interview. Young Oon [Kim] and I followed them. We went into different rooms.”

Hyo-won Eu: “July 5. We bought all the newspapers. The story in the papers was very dirty… We were interrogated for evading the draft and for illegally confining people. Sitting all day with an empty stomach, I even forgot about being tired.”

Hyo-won Eu: “July 11. I encouraged Kyung Kyu [Yoo], Hwan Chai [Hwang] and the students from Ewha. I asked everybody to meet at Yang’s house [she was the professor from Ewha Woman’s University], with unity and love. At 4:30 I prepared for life in jail, and went to the investigation station. I also saw Sung Sil Choi being interrogated. He also was arrested. I was arrested at the East Gate station.”

[Sung Sil Choi is Ms. Soon-shil Choi, who is a young woman and not a man. Hyo Won Eu saw Ms. Soon-shil Choi – accused of being involved in immoral sexual acts – at the police station.]

Hyo-won Eu: “July 13. I was sent by a detective to the Chong No station. Already Teacher [Moon] and Sung Sil were there. When Teacher, Attorney Choi and the detective were going to take the taxi to the local court, many family members surrounded us. Hyo Min [Eu] and Hyo Young [Eu] were with them too. Young-Sook Park [a student from Ewha] was looking at me very sympathetically. When we were almost ready to leave, one of my nephews called out, “Uncle, what happened to you?” He was crying. When the car left, he hit the window. Their faces looked at us with so much longing, so I told them there was nothing to worry about.”

Kim Yun-rye was also expelled but later made a pledge to give up the Unification Church, and Ewha Womans University allowed her to return to her studies.

Eight of the expelled students entered other universities in 1956.

Hyo-won Eu: “We became so tired, waiting in the Pigeon’s Ground. Teacher’s right wrist and my left wrist were bound tightly together. We were led to the examining room. Mr. Han, Mother Oak [Se-hyun Ok], Chong Bok, Han Yong, Hwan Chai and Kyung Gu were trying to follow us. We all ate the food brought by our family. When all six, including Sung Sil [Soon-shil Choi], were being bound together, Teacher said, “They are making us eternally inseparable. We determine to fight unto death.” When I heard these words I was glad and happy. He looked at me and added, “Hyo Won, you are having a hard time, aren’t you?” I told him, “Because of our mistakes, we got you into trouble as well.” With 30 other prisoners, we were sent to the West Gate prison. Some time after midnight, we arrived at Building 6, Ward 9, Cell 380.”

Hyo-won Eu: “July 29. Again, as on the first day, five of us were bound together with Teacher and were sent before Judge Kang [姜瑞龍 Kang Seo-yong]. All family members were with us, too. I said to myself, “Bind us together forever.”

“Son Yung Sohn touched me. I asked him to greet Teacher. Teacher told him, “Pray a lot.” When we got into the car, they didn’t let us sit next to the window. I couldn’t understand how their minds could be so hard. I saw that some investigators were envious of our passionate love and our family’s efforts. They are our strength and shelter. Kwang Yul’s [Kwang-Yol Yoo] brother-in-law came to visit us. I couldn’t forget the impression of a lady waving her hands beside Kae Sun. Why couldn’t I remember her name? This is my shortcoming. Mr. Choi came over, but I couldn’t see him. Chung Su Choi came from Wan Ju, greeting me with tears. They were our family who wanted to share our persecution.”

“So finally 22 days passed since our arrest, and we were brought to trial. The first trial was at 10:00 at the local courtroom in Seoul, courtroom 4. The judge was Hak-No Yoon 尹學老. He was actually the chief judge. In the afternoon session, Judge Seo-Yong Kang 姜瑞龍 gave the following sentence: ‘Teacher, 2 years; Hyo Won, 2 years; the other members, 1 year each.’” [The others were each sentenced to 18 months, not 12 months.]

When numerous students and several outstanding professors became Unification Church members, they were given an ultimatum: Leave the Unification Church or leave Ewha University.

Mrs. Gil Ja Sa Eu wrote:

… fourteen of us were called to the office of the dean of students. The dean told us, ‘The Unification Church is heresy, and they dance around in the nude. You mustn’t go there.’ We answered, ‘We haven’t even danced fully clothed, much less nude. If we wanted to dance, we would go to a dance hall. Why should we go to church to dance?’ But she said, ‘That’s not true. You don’t know because you’re not in very deeply yet. Six people arrested and arraigned, including Moon the religious leader of the ‘Unification Church’

Following Earlier Report = The investigation of the so-called ‘Incident of the Holy Spirit Association of the Unification of World Christianity,’ which had been under police investigation, has concluded with the six persons involved being arrested and arraigned yesterday, the 13th, by the Seoul District Public Prosecutor’s Office under one case file.

The persons involved in this incident are currently being questioned on charges which include violating the Military Service Act, counterfeiting official documents, and violating the National Security Act. Also, according to one investigating official, there is evidence for seven counts of adultery between sect leader Moon and his female followers. It is expected that there will be a new investigation as an adultery case, but the investigation cannot proceed because so far there have been no complaints from the husbands of the female followers who committed adultery (adultery is an offense subject to complaint, so [a case] needs a victim’s complaint for indictment).

Furthermore, establishing the adultery case will provide the standard for deciding whether the religion is or is not a cult, so the development of the prosecution’s investigation is being watched with keen interest.

WASHINGTON — Once-secret government files released by a House subcommittee trace the so-called “Moonie” church from its origins as a small-time Korean sex cult to a worldwide organization operated by the Korean Central Intelligence Agency.

The documents, soon to be the subject of public hearings, indicate the Unification (Moonie) Church was used by the Korean government as part of a lobbying effort in the U.S. Congress.

Diplomatic cables said that the church patriarch, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, headed a Korean cult that “interprets the Bible in sexual terms.” The KCIA decided to use Moon in a scheme that grew to include other Koreans bribing congressmen, the documents said.

A U.S. Central intelligence Agency report, marked “unevaluated” and written in February 1963, said that Lt. Col. Bo Hi Pak of the Korean army was working to expand the church into Washington under the direction of Kim Chong-pil, the director of the KCIA.

A cable sent to Washington from the American embassy in Seoul on August 26, 1966, describes an initiation ceremony for the church involving sexual relations. The cable said the church refers to such initiation as “baptizing.”

The author of the cable quoted Thomas Chung, president of the Korean Students’ Association in Washington, as saying: “Colonel Pak was in trouble because he had attempted to initiate into his church (i.e. to have sexual relations with) the wife of a visiting ROK (Korean government) official (either the minister of national defense or the chief of staff).”

The cable continued: “According to Chung, the matter had been hushed up, but only with difficulty, and Pak had nearly lost his job because of it.“

That cable also quotes another intelligence source: “He said that the church interprets the Bible in sexual terms and maintains that religious experience is interrelated with sex. MUN Son-myong (sic), leader of the church, was once arrested because of the sexual practices of the organization.” Spokesmen for Moon have acknowledged that the religious leader was arrested but maintained he was cleared of the charges.

The 1963 CIA document explained that the Korean intelligence agency planned to open a branch of the Unification Church (also called Tong Il) in Washington with Bo Hi Pak as the real leader.

Pak was to organize the church in America, the CIA report said, through an organization called the Korean Cultural and Freedom Foundation. The authors of the CIA in-house reports said their sources disclosed in 1963 that the KCIA chief, Kim Chong-pil, was using the church to advance his own political moves in Korea. The KCIA director was a ringleader in the coup that installed Park Chung Hee as president.’

Summaries of other top-secret U.S. intelligence reports released by Rep. Donald Fraser, D-Minn., indicate that in 1970 President Park Chung Hee launched a plan to use the Unification Church as part of the Korean effort to stop the U.S. from pulling troops out of the country.

One summary said that President Park planned to use Bo Hi Pak to operate lobbying efforts through the church, while the millionaire socialite, Tongsun Park, focused his efforts on entertaining members of Congress and passing out gifts.

In the final months of the Nixon Administration, the Unification Church held vigils outside the White House to oppose impeachment moves. Other Moonies walked the halls of Capitol Hill and urged congressmen to support Nixon and foreign aid for Korea.

Most church members are young unmarried adults who live in dormitories and devote their time to fundraising and other church-related activities in exchange for food, clothing and shelter. Church members and investigators who have infiltrated the church in recent years say that the Moonies live by a strict moral code that forbids sexual activity outside marriage.

However, the State Department reports — based on investigations of the Unification Church in the 1960s — paint a different picture.

At the time of the alleged effort to “baptize” a top official’s wife, Pak was assistant military attache at the Korean embassy in Washington.

Pak has told the House Subcommittee on U.S. Korean Relations that he left the embassy in 1964 to become affiliated with the Korean Cultural and Freedom Foundation. He is now president of the foundation and acts as interpreter for Moon.

During a lengthy and emotional speech before the House subcommittee, Pak branded as false all charges about his ties with the KCIA. He accused the House and the U.S. press of persecuting members of the Unification faith and trying to “crucify” Moon.

Pak ridiculed assertions that the Moon religion is actually a foreign affairs arm of the Korean Intelligence Agency.

“This subcommittee, in the powerful name of the US Congress, gave unqualified authenticity to a so-called intelligence report, which is trash, total lies, distorted, and vicious in nature,” Pak said.

He said that the Moon church is no more political than Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish congregations in the United States. Those churches, Pak said, actively and lawfully champion political causes as the Unification Church does.

Pak was not questioned about the alleged sexual practices. Fraser announced he will return Pak to the witness stand April 11 for more testimony.

A fourth member who joined the UC in the 1960s, and left after 20 years, also gave confirmation about Moon’s sperm in the ‘Holy Wine.’ Dr. Warren Lewis, who was professor of Church History at the Unification Theological Seminary for many years, also explained that Moon’s sperm was in the ‘Holy Wine.’ That is why in the ‘Holy Wine Ceremony’ the wife must drink the first half of the cup of ‘Holy Wine’ before the husband drinks the remainder. According to Moon, Eve must be cleansed first. There are shamanistic beliefs that if a person can get someone else to imbibe their body fluids, they then can have some influence over the person who drank.

The holy wine contains all the essential elements of things which are without Satan's accusation. If some person does an act that defiles him after receiving the holy wine and becoming one with the True Parents, he comes to stand in a position more fearful than Satan's. Satan defiled and violated the perfection level of the growth stage, but if a person who received the Blessing makes a mistake, he commits the sin of treason against God's substance in the perfection level of the perfection stage. Following previous report – What is the identity of The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity which has suddenly drawn such a lot of attention to itself recently due to the arrest of its leader? Did Mr. Moon indeed sexually abuse women who believe in his religion? The authorities have disclosed the two charges against him: “avoiding military service” and “unlawful imprisonment” [of a 22 year-old female Yonsei university student, Choi Soon-shil, for three days. Moon dressed her in white and denied her food for those three days.]. After comprehensive discussion, and public criticism of Mr. Moon, here is some information about the religion:

◊ Indoctrination methods – New recruits have to listen to sermons about the teachings of the religion for 72 hours (three full days). The sermons are given by Church Leader Mr. Moon. The weekly lectures on Mr Moon’s doctrines start at 10 in the morning on a Monday and run until 10 in the morning on a Thursday. If anyone doubts the teachings and wants to leave, Church Leader Mr. Moon stops them from leaving by sternly saying, “If you leave, you will die.” Mr. Moon also says, “Koreans are the people chosen by God and Pyongyang is the Jerusalem of the world.” He preaches that he is the son of God, and if a woman has a sexual relationship with him, she will give birth to a world teacher [a messiah].

◊ The behavior of a man who hunts women (a sexual predator) – Mr. Moon is an eloquent speaker. They say that when he finds women who truly believe in him, he entices them into his abode (a single room inside the said Association building) and violates them. Four victims have been identified and these women are middle-aged (over 30 years of age) with husbands. Their families are above middle class. One of them is a Mrs. Kim Soon-chang (not her real name), aged 36. She was a decent well-to-do upper class housewife, but after she fell prey to Church Leader Mr. Moon’s offerings she experienced the fate of being abandoned by her husband.

◊ The financial status of the said Association – At present the Association is renting a building. The church receives donations from its 250 members in Seoul, but they do not amount to much. So the members started [a business] taking downtown landscape photographs. They then mass produce “bromide polyamide” prints which they sell all over the city.

◊ The situation of the organization – There are branches in Busan, Taegu and elsewhere, and the headquarters are in Seoul. Each of these branches has approximately 250 members, and this makes 700 members in total. Looking at the gender balance, there are about equal numbers of men and women, and the level of education is to quite a high standard.

◊ 獵色行爲 [렵색행위] = 文씨는능변가로서 독실한신도라고 지목되는 여자들이 발견되면 자기거처 (同協會內單間房) [(동협회내단간방)] 이외의장소로 유인하여 정조를 유린해왔다고한다.

피해자로 단정할수있는 四 (사) 명의여자는 三 (삼) 십 대를넘은 중년유부녀 (中年有夫女) [(중년유부녀)] 들로서 그들의가정은 중류이상에 속하고있다. 그중의한사람인  金順昌 [김순창] 假名 [가명] = (三六) (삼육) 여사는 남부럽지않은 상류가정의 주부였었으나 文교주의 제물이된후부터는 남편의버림을받는 운명에놓이게 되었다.

◊ 同協會財政關係 [동협회재정관계] = 현재의협회건물은 세로쓰고 있는것이다. 그들은二(이) 백五 (오) 십명 (서울) 의신자들로부터 성금(誠金)을받으나 그금액은 적은것이기때문에 시내의 풍경을촬영한『푸로마이드』를 대량만들어 시내도처에서 판매하고있다.
