ARTIST INTERVIEW https://pikcherart.com/
Tell us about yourself and your art specialties. Hi, I’m an artist with a diverse view on life. I like to take real objects and transpose some fantasy onto them to stimulate creative thinking.
How long have you been an artist and how did you get started? I have been creating art for over 10 years now. At first, I did it for my own enjoyment but friends wanted me to create art for them. After a while I started selling some pieces on etsy and it kind of grew from there.
How would you describe your art style? My art style is mainly modern/realist although I have added a modernist touch to some traditional paintings as well.
Are you working on any art projects right now? I’m constantly working on new projects and have 2 – 3 on the go at any one time.
What/who inspires you to create your artwork? I don’t have any particular favorite artist but will often visit the Tate gallery for inspiration.
Do you use Photoshop or anything like that in your workflow? How does it help? Yes, I use Photoshop a lot – the layering technique allows me to get some unique aspects that work very well.
What advice do you have for somebody who wants to get started in the arts? Follow your heart and don’t do it for the money. If it’s good enough it will sell, but don’t allow the financial side to add pressure to what you should be enjoying.
Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of your art. What other hobbies or careers are you working on? I enjoy flying a drone and hope to incorporate some of the film and photography in my artwork in the future.
Where can we find your work? Any websites or social media we can check out? You can see my artwork here: https://pikcherart.com/ https://www.instagram.com/pikcher/
