Mikoto crept into the Akatsuki base, per usual. She had some goods for her brother, but after a Quick Look around, she didn’t find him, surprisingly. Who she did find was -
“Ah, surprised to see you here.”

11. If you could recommend one game or one book, what would it be?
I did answer this one here, but I will do a second selection!
Gonna go silly on the book and say the Animorphs series which I read as a kid, which I would recommend reading as a kid. Sure, it's kids that turn into animals and fight parasitic aliens. But it's also the reality and consequences of war. They win, but they also lose things. Surprisingly heavy topics presented in a way for a younger mind to process and understand.
And for another game:
Minecraft. Maybe it's the designer/builder brain of mine, but I am now a big fan of sandbox type games? Lots of opportunity for creativity. I don't know if I would enjoy it half as much without the absolute chaos my little group of gaming friends get up to as well. I built a lot of things i never tried before at massive scales in the current server I am on. It scratches the artist part of my brain I guess, with a lil of the architecture side as well. Good shit.
@pillar-of-peace Nao! Is Mr. Yagi actually All Might?! I need your answer for CONSPIRACY REASONS!! ~dooley
“You think Toshinori is All Might?” He’s avoiding answering. “Why?”

I’m just going to write the smells of people closest to her in various AUs.
Kuri is always the smell of clean things -- fresh linen, or the fruit and vegetable drawers after you just went shopping. For some reason the smell of freshly cut, cold cucumbers comes to mind, and I can see it being a little snack they used to have as kids because it was crunchy and fun.
Tenzo/Yamato is more... musky? Sweat and dirt and that same type of soap he’s been using for years now. There’s an oil they use in ANBU to clean their weapons and their gear, Anko recognizes that smell on him sometimes, and finds it comforting despite what it means. @neoninjutsu
Gai is the smell after a shower. She doesn’t know why that’s what she thinks of when she thinks of him, but it is. Wet hair and the way the room feels when you open the bathroom door and all the warmth is let out and you’re left with the startling cold, because someone has decided to steal your towel and make it so your only reasonable course of action is to jump right into bed and huddle up until you’re warm again. @lvyeshou
Yashamaru is the hospital, the smell of his scrubs, and the latex-free gloves he always keeps in one of his pockets in case he has a patient with an allergy. He’s the click of his stethoscope being placed on the counter because he forgot to take it off his neck on his way home. He’s a smile against her neck in the morning and fingers that tease her with a song they drum along her skin. Sometimes he’s less happy things -- blood, in Illustrado, from people he tried to help and couldn’t. That’s not even a smell she’s ever witnessed on him, it’s just one that she associates from all she knows. @yxksha
Sasuke is the kitchen, making meals for a little boy she doesn’t know how to help. Even as an adult he doesn’t ever shift outside of those memories of when he was younger. Yes, she knows he’s grown and she loves him for everything he’s trying to become, but he’ll always be the memories from earlier in their time together. The clink of new kunai she bought him for training, the scratch of a hawk’s talons on her arm as his first summon decides it doesn’t like her and her snakes, the sound of a bag of cat food kept outside the back door being opened and scooped out every morning so he can feed one of the strays in the compound. @shadowkage / @seiauton

It hadn't been planned for this to happen. Though, it rarely ever was. Especially in a place that seemed to be constantly involved with fighting as this one. The three had done well holding their own despite losing any sense of composure at a certain point when it became clear that they were looking death in the face. He couldn’t fault them for that in the slightest, though. While they were teenagers now, and no longer the small brats that he had taken under his wing, they were still inexperienced children.
They were all clearly shaken by the end of it and a part of him felt guilty. He knew that this was an inevitable situation, though, and pushed the feeling aside as much as he could. The first fight for your life was always the most difficult. There was only so much anyone could prepare them for and no amount of training could prepare someone for the realization that they weren't invincible-- that one small mistake could end their life or the lives of their allies.
Konan and Nagato would join when they were ready. Kakuzu wasn't about to force them to eat if they were still dealing with the emotional turmoil. It would only end in an upset stomach. He was honestly surprised Yahiko had joined him at the table at all. It was painfully clear, though, that the young man was far from alright, barely able to even hold his chopsticks.
He looked up when the other addressed him, pausing to listen to his question. He set his own utensils down on the resting block with a small sigh. He wasn't disappointed in them, not in the slightest. He just didn't think this conversation would come up so soon. "The first time is always the hardest," he replied. "It gets easier as time goes on, and eventually battle will be nothing more than second nature. There will still be times that you are afraid, but you'll learn not to let it control you."
Kakuzu had once been in the same state as the younger man. All shinobi have. The fear and desperation would utterly destroy some. Kakuzu was much younger than the teenager sitting across from him when he was thrown into his first battle. It was vastly different than training. Training, you knew you were safe. The feeling of that safety no longer being there could throw even the best of prodigies for a loop and end in tragedy.
"If you feel like you can't eat right now, don't force yourself. You'll only make yourself sick."

Container blogs have always been the bane of my existence. I genuinely think they’re hideous and have no place in RP. They just don’t facilitate reading, links are often hard to find, and there is usually an extra layer of text formatting or html trickery that makes posts fade out or disappear or whatever. It’s just... unsightly. I genuinely don’t understand the aesthetic. How is anyone looking at a rectangle three fingers wide and thinking to themselves “this is what I want to present”???
