I Made A Pillow Pit™ (kinda)
Remaking this post because I’m an idiot and accidentally hit delete when I went to add a picture.
So a little while ago, I moved to a different room in our ancient (literally over a century old) house. Because it’s so old, we don’t really have a proper HVAC system, and there is zero insulation in the walls, so that room gets really hot in the summer and really cold in the fall/winter (the pacific northwest be like that).
Because it would cost a fortune to try and heat/cool the whole room with those portable AC/heating units, I picked up a few sets of cheap blackout curtains and used them to kind of tent off my bed area so I could heat/cool just that part of the room. This also worked out pretty great because sleep and I have a, well, complicated relationship and I have a hard time falling asleep if it’s not almost completely dark.
On another note, I ended up spending part of the summer at my aunt and uncles house, and the guest room I was staying in had 4-5 pillows on the bed and I got really used to being able to use an abundance of pillows to prop me up in, like, any sleeping position I wanted. When I got home and only had the one pillow on my bedand it sucked. I found out that walmart sells these bargain bin pillows for like $2.50 apiece (they’re those cheap polyester fiber filled ones that would be terrible for your neck, but are really squishy and perfect for snuggling with), so now I have 7 pillows.
Anyways, I was doing some work the other day and realized that I almost had my own Connor Pillow Pit™ from @ladyblargh ‘s Chouette! story. I don’t have couches or a secret passageway, so it’s not quite a full Pillow Pit™ (maybe a diet Pillow Pit™???) but it’s super cozy like I would imagine the canon one would be.
