smth about aubrey's character that i think is overlooked is that she is the sole girl in a group of all boys. of course, she's just as close with them and their genders don't matter to their friendship. but i think it adds to the wedge that was driven between aubrey and the rest as they grew older. she already has a horrible mother and once she lost mari, aubrey had absolutely no female figure to look up to or help her. she had to learn on her own how to be a teenage girl. i honestly wonder if she even had any guidance about normal girl things like periods too 😞😞😞😞😕😕😕😕

it's also a reason i luv transmasc aubrey (i am not projecting i swear)

she also had a neglectful father so i wonder if she in general had problems connecting with boys but ended up with all male friend group maybe because she also struggled to connect with girls because of her mother/losing mari but in the end managed to reconnect with her friend group of boys AND make another friend group with some girls 😞😞❤️❤️i love her character i feel like people don't give her enough credit for complexity

i luv this old silly omocat doodle because it shows kel mimicking/reflecting everyone's emotions. he's "..." with sunny, sweating and tweaking with basil, and more high-energy with aubrey. i think kel is an empath/highly sensitive person who mirrors people a lot like this, and it's one of the reasons he has high-tension with aubrey and might get more frustrated with her, because she does too. i love Kel

thinking ab how basil's something is literally eating him alive and surrounding him while sunny's is behind him. because basil wants to escape the truth as well but he can't use escapism like sunny. because he has to deal with the consequences irl and still go out. he is forced to live with it. while sunny's is behind him where he doesn't have to see it. and when it appears in the mirror it's very brief and the game kicks you out immediately so you don't have to keep seeing it.

and how stranger in blackspace had that line like "on that day when you became nothing, i was split in half." and. thh at's. like their something manifestations. do you get it

thinking ab how in headspace, basil is not in monochrome like omori despite being involved in the incident. sunny views only himself as the parasite to the group and still wants basil to be happy with the rest of them despite him also being guilty in the incident

he still views basil as different from the rest (also notice that everyone in the group is wearing pajama-like outfits except for mari and basil) and obv since he tried to banish him to blackspace, but deep down he still doesn't blame basil for anything, only himself
