#Repost @flex_me_a_beer ・・・ The finale of #pinkbeerweek concludes with this interesting sour by @surlybrewing Fresh Ink. A small batch imperial kettle sour ale with blackberries and black currants. First sip feelings were very mixed. It was super malty up front with some seemingly unbalanced bitter berry flavor. I should’ve known and listened to my own personal rule. Pour a sour then let sit. After sitting for 10 or so minutes the malty punch lessened and really let the blackberry flavor come through. Thus concluding with a dry bitter finish thanks to the currants. I actually enjoyed this thoroughly and appreciated it for being a little bit different of a sour. Reminded me very much like a Flanders Red Sour. There’s also no sighting of the 9.4% ABV anywhere in the beer. And if you’re going to argue about the color of this and whether or not it’s pink, well, quite frankly I don’t care. It’s my week!
