super extra emo today that i’ve been tearing up throughout the whole pinkdot lovestream. i’m one of those who had to watch this in secret and i’m so so thankful for all these people who are continuously fighting for the silenced ones.

Celebrating #pinkdot12 with @pinkdotsg , watch out for the online live stream at 8pm. Like every LGBT+ in Singapore, we grief that progress is achingly slow, we go through the roller coaster of hope and disappointment, wins and defeats. We see other countries gain marriage equality, we’re happy for them and celebrate with them, we’re also reminded how it isn’t for us yet. We yearn for the day this happens at home. It’s been an exhausting uphill climb for Pink Dot SG, with sudden government regulations to stump even peaceful gatherings, religious conservatives putting up more barriers to harmony than tearing them down. Thank you Pink Dot and all the supporters for being persistent and not giving up. As a Christian lesbian, I have witness the agony of my spirituality seeking LGBT+ friends first hand, conversion therapy and all. Met the bigots, been harmed by them, struggled with coming out, felt all alone. My faith has just grown stronger, my heart has grown bigger, my spirit is still unyielding. It is dynamic, resilient and most of all, peaceful amongst the chaos. I am astounded how well loved I am from above, not to sound mushy but it does move me to tears. It’s 26 years as a not-that-kind of Christian Christian, I have spoken up multiple times about religious persecution against LGBTs and vow to continue to speak up. Love one love all is the ethos of every person of any faith, let us not forget this.
