Heya! So i went on a hike today, found a bunch of mushrooms, but this is the first time ive ever seen this type. They’re about two or so inches tall, and pitch black on the outside. Im in california.
If you could help me figure out what kind of mushroom they are, that would be awesome! (Sorry for the bad lighting, i took them really quick and didnt try and make them look good lol)

Oh wow! Look at these beauties! It’s taken me a while to respond because I’ve been pondering over them, but they look like members of the Entoloma genus to me, something like Entoloma nitidum, the pine pinkgill, which grows in the US and is associated with pine trees, which I can see the needles of here. This genus is characterised by the gills which turn a light buffish-pink as the spores mature, but this is often not evident until very late in the mushroom’s growth, and may not be apparent on photos.
