Hi ladies, any chance for new fanfic chapters this weekend? Frangi's "There's a Crack in Everything" or last chapter of "Second Chances"? Laure's new fic? Tutor Quinn? Teen Quinn and Carrie and the cute puppy he got for Christmas? Quinn, Brody and Carrie in Iran? Strangers? Pretty please!!!

I just re-watched the 2.10 scene b/w Saul & Dar Adal. I think Dar's storyline is going to flush out just how far he'll go in getting his hands dirty for the sake of the mission. He definitely took advantage of the Secret Service protocols that were enacted when Sekou's van blew up that isolated Keane from her team, her ability to communicate & his ability to implicate Carrie. It also served his interest in keeping Saul away from her. How much do you think he had to do with the bomb himself?

Dar may go to any length for the mission, but there isn’t actually any mission here. Dar’s main interest is in the continuation of the CIA’s covert operations - he’s trying to undermine Keane’s less militaristic Middle East agenda by fabricating evidence of an Iranian parallel nuclear program. I don’t think he’s responsible for the bomb in Manhattan. I don’t think it’s his style and I don’t see how it directly supports his agenda. 

Also, they’ve been trying to set him up as the bad guy since before the season started. It’s too obvious. I think he’s a red herring.

Anyone else starting to wonder if Carrie will believe Franny is better off in someone else's care? It would free her up to get back in to the CIA. Gansa's interview struck me w/ his FYC comments-the season revolving around Carrie & her daughter...& that some people that CPS should've taken her kid away a long time ago. I think it's a window into what the writers think of her as a mother. Nothing has happened since Franny was taken that all of a sudden make her a better Mom. Thoughts?

There is a lot to unpack here. I think there definitely are people beginning to wonder if Carrie may be thinking Franny is better off in someone else’s care. 

I took Gansa’s comment about people thinking it’s long overdue that CPS has taken away her kid to just be a nod to the critics or contingent of the audience that think Carrie is a bad mother – it’s not an insignificant number. It deserves to be addressed. 

I really, really hope, however, that this doesn’t happen. For Carrie to come around to that type of conclusion–that Franny is better off in someone else’s care–would be such a huge 180 from where she is not only at the beginning of the season but also just a few episodes ago. Her demeanor with Saul in 6.08 was not one of dejection and resignation. I got the sense that she would do literally anything to get her back (including going to therapy, which I think is just about last on List of Things Carrie Mathison Would Like to Do Ever). 

Further, the “realization” I think we are meant to see with respect to Carrie/Franny (what, perhaps, makes her a better mom) comes in 6.10 when her priorities shift. The therapist plants the seed in her head that her daughter needs to come first. The next episode, she does just that. Perhaps it wasn’t so elegantly executed but I think that’s the writer’s intent and for me, at least, it landed.
