Since it's @ellanasoma's day today🎊 I made a PinMarcus moodboard for a future-set plot bunny we've chatted about before. Pin never learnt to bake much since Ted wasn't skilled at desserts, so Marcus offers to teach him & they make a habit (read more or less dates) out of it.

Since I saw someone say it's Free Rein Friday, time for another Pin/Marcus moodboard. Anniversary theme: they're on the mainland at the time for Dukely duties, so they go to celebrate at an intimate little restaurant, picking a rose on the way from a park they take a walk through.

A little sneak peak - just a couple of snippets - from the fic I should be posting any day now, once it's June and editing is finished, since it's Pride related. Pin goes to uni and discovers some things about himself, with a small side of pinmarcus pre-ship.

I've had entirely too many Free Rein fic ideas lately, considering it's a show that I never expected to take so seriously (on a second watch of it over on a SOC server I'm in). This just happens to be the one I'm gonna finish first, but there shall be more pinmarcus on the way, as well as an attempt at the more challenging pinmia (yes, you heard me right, it's slowburn kinda fake dating at first).

This has some light angst but also has a happy ending and I'm told it brings many feels. Excited for posting it properly, hopefully later this week.

Free Rein - doesn't everyone (Pin Hawthorne, 4k words)

There's an awkward pause as Pin's mind reels at her words, but Sammy is still grinning knowingly at him.

“Are you sure about that? Just, the way you said it...it didn't seem like a very straight thing to say,” she says, fixing him with an analysing gaze that makes him feel prickly.

Pin tries very hard not to think about any of it, uncomfortable with the confusion that clouds his thoughts when that whole mess of ideas crosses his mind. It gets harder and harder to do that since every time Marcus messages him he is reminded yet again.

And Marcus is definitely sending him more messages these days, keeping him updated on Bright Fields as usual, but also on his own daily goings-on in a relentlessly cheery and matey manner. He's never even put off by Pin's frequently terse and often single-word replies, the latter of which are much more likely when it irritates him to have that reminder flash up.
