this is real random but ur like the only carollian i know so i must ask-- thoughts on heart no kuni no alice?

okay since this is something i was meaning to check out for a long time but never got around to doing it, i just opened up a playthrough of this game and i’m writing out my thoughts in real time:

-good job on calling alice’s big sister lorina, lorina was the real alice’s older sister’s name as well

-alice is extremely gay for her sister and idk how to feel about this

-lorina mentions the interpretation of dreams by freud but that book wasn’t published until at least 30+ years after alice was and moreover any adaptation that mentions freudian theory in conjunction with alice is immediately on my shit list so we’re not off to a great start

imma skip ahead a little. the translation available for this isn’t very good, it seems

-i’m confused about alice actually being an adult here but still dressing like a victorian child. i guess i need to stop comparing this with the actual alice

-it’s peeving that they were so spot-on with most of the wonderland characters but they couldn’t resist throwing tweedle dee and tweedle dum into the mix. how many times do we have to go over the fact that those two are looking-glass characters, not wonderland

-nonconsensual kissing? in my wonderland? it’s likelier than you think

generally it seems cute but not like. super faithful to the original (obviously since this is a dating sim lol)? there’s some subplot about warring kingdoms and whatnot which is amusing to me bc that’s probably looking-glass-inspired as well

OMG IH AD THESE WHEN I WAS REALLY YOUNG i hated teh dresses for sailor jupiter tho so i tried making a suit for her. it was bad

let’s be fair none of these outfits are really banging except for maybe ami’s top and skirt combos there... and OMG a suit option would have been 1000x better why didn’t they come with suits >:(
