This was the moment to be as flexible as possible, no form parameters aslong as it served the function as a form of dish. I got excited about this project because it held cultural significance, and the topic of material culture is something I've been focusing on all year. I was excited to create a piece that represented my culture in a specific manner.
Based on the meal i was focusing on, most of the dishes i researched on pinterest were bowls that were either attached to one another, or that fit within one another.
Given the assignment to come up with three ideas and sketches, allowed me to be flexible and creative with the process; maybe a little too flexible because i hadn't really accounted for weight and gravity.
Although my creative dish project wasn't exactly what i had imagined it to be due to weight and gravity issues, i was still happy with what i had accomplished. It was a start for me in experimenting with elaborate forms, and joining two or more pieces together.
The final project consisted of a main central large bowl, with four additional smaller bowls attached to the surface.
