Member Spotlight on Let Your Space BLOOM, Home Organization Pro, Amy Bloomer
(Above: Amy Bloomer, founder of Let Your Space BLOOM)
Amy Bloomer founded home organization company, LET YOUR SPACE BLOOM, in an effort to secure her legend as a “revolutionary for people’s space.” (Her family history lends itself to leaving lasting impressions on culture and lifestyle).
Read on as we get to know Amy and her talents as a professional home organizer.
The Scout Guide (TSG): What made you decide to launch a home organization company?
Amy: I started organizing as soon as I could walk, sorting my toy chest by size, color and function. It is truly my passion and calling in life.
After college, I obtained my Masters in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and worked for almost fifteen years in various roles within corporate human resources on Wall Street. But after all those years, I left the corporate world to accept the most challenging job – a stay at home mom to two kids, Thomas and Zoë. A few years ago, when both my kids were in elementary school, I decided to bring my passion for helping people flourish through organization to the Baltimore market. At first I worked as a contractor for a local organizing company, and then this summer, I decided to launch my own business.
Even though organization is innate for me, it’s a teachable skill that anyone can learn. Everyone deserves to live in a space that is intentionally organized; one that suits their wants and needs and also enhances their mental and physical health.
TSG: Do you think cities like Baltimore are more in need of smart home storage because of the smaller residences, like the rowhomes downtown, where space is at a premium?
Amy: Absolutely! In fact, anyone who lives in a metropolitan area knows that it’s imperative to make the most efficient use of their space. I spent 10 years living and working in Manhattan, where square footage is truly at a premium. I became an expert in maximizing every inch available while also creating an aesthetic that compliments the space.
TSG: Are there certain life events that lend themselves to a natural opportunity for organization?
Amy: Any time one goes through a life transition, there is a tremendous opportunity to get organized. A few examples include any type of a move, getting married, having children, becoming empty nesters, retiring, etc. Whenever there is a marked change in one’s space, it’s an opportune time to rediscover what one has, whether it still has a purpose and what is needed going forward. My goal during these times is to help clients make it easy to find the things they need so they have more time to do the things they love.
TSG: How does the process work if someone is interested in hiring your team?
Amy: It begins with a simple conversation during a 20-minute complimentary phone call. The objective is to learn more about clients and what challenges them the most about their space. They will learn further details about our process and pricing, and any questions or concerns will be addressed. Once they feel confident Let Your Space BLOOM, LLC will help them transform their space, the first session is scheduled.
TSG: What’s something fun we should know about you or your business?
Amy: My inspiration behind starting this business is this - I married a descendent of the revolutionary women's rights activist, Amelia Bloomer. With her work, she truly changed the course of history helping to get women the right to vote in Seneca Falls in the 1800s. But she was even more well known for popularizing a radically new, and comfortable, style of dress; and that is where the term "bloomers" comes from! Amelia was a revolutionary for women’s fashion and social reform; I aspire to be a revolutionary for people’s space.

Even though I’m going to have a walk in closet in my new home, I still think every blogger should have a clothes rack! It’s definitely apart of the lifestyle/fashion blogger starter kit. I’ve seen super cute and simple ones at all the stores I’ve been stalking for all my home decor needs! Where and how do you store your clothes?! #homedecor #closetorganization #fashionblogger #pinterestperfect #homeinspo #dmvblogger #baltimoreblogger #baltimorecreatives #browngirlbloggers #blackgirlswhosblog #blackwhoblog #blackgirlboss #blackbloggersunited #fashionblogger #lifestyleblogger #beautyblogger #bloggerlife #bloggersgetsocial #ontheblog #theeverygirl #stylehaul #thehighsandthelos #justagirlwithgoals
