San Sebastián
& last but not least, vacation part 3!
San Sebastian. Wow. We loved this city. Not only was it beautiful, but the weather was perfect (despite the little bit of rain we got) and the food - oh, the food! - was amazing.
Like Biarritz, we spent a lot of time just wandering around, taking in the sights.
Our second day, we got up early to hike a part of the Camino de Santiago. We were technically doing it backwards, but peu importe. It was beautiful.
The hike took us to this adorable little fising town, Pasajes de San Juan.
We had to take this little boat over to the main side of the town!
Once there we sat ourselves down at a little cafe by the water and drank some sparkling wine and had some pinxtos (tapas in the Basque language). The sparkling wine was quite interesting - it’s not naturally sparkling, so it requires a special pouring spout and must be poured from high above the glass!
We had pinxtos for dinner one night too. My favorites were beef cheek (marinated for 6 hours in red wine) and a porc kebab.
