They were everywhere, no matter how Tamyra tried to get away from them. She turned right and she found a woman desperately trying to climb a try but in a way it suggested she thought she was in a completely different place, weeping and crying for help, but then she turned left and instead of getting away, she found herself faced with two teens in twead jackets, running towards her and Tamyra stumbled back, just in time to get out of their way.
She did not want to get two ghosts running through her, thank you very much. That looked cool in movies when they could do special effects, she would have liked to stay away from them in real life.
(For now she ignored the point that this was not real life, this was island life, real life was home and far, far away from this jungle and this island and now the additional crazy stuff that the jungle held that she didn’t realize. That none of them realized, really.)
She needed to get out of here. Whatever was happening, she’s had enough, and she needed to get the hell out of here. The only problem was, she didn’t know the faintest idea where “out” was. Everything was dark, no light coming in from above and they were deep enough in the forest that she didn’t know where to even begin to head out. But there was no point in just stopping and hoping somebody finds her and points her to the right direction, so she picked one - the one that didn’t include ghosts in her path - and started going, hoping that she would eventually bump into somebody who would know the way out, or had a better inkling of directions.
Instead, she found the new girl, Piper was her name. (Technically she could have had a good sense of direction, but she also only arrived a couple of days ago, so Tamyra assumed she was way out of her element in the jungle now.) Her tiny form practically jumped out at Tamyra from behind the tree, bumping into her from what seemed like running.
“Whoa, slow down,” Tamyra said, automatically reaching out and holding onto Piper’s elbows to keep both of them upright. “You okay there? You look like you’ve seen a-- well, this saying doesn’t really work this time I guess, we’ve all seen ghosts.” Tamyra looked behind herself as she dropped her arms and looked behind herself to make sure nobody was coming that way. The ghosts weren’t attacking them, per se, but they still creeped her out. “Come on, let’s move this way, you can tell me what you’ve seen while we walk,” she nodded in a slightly different direction then where she originally headed.
